Ravi is one of the founder directors of the Academy of Indian Music. He is an accomplished mridangist, having played professionally with many first-rank Karnatic musicians, both in India, and here in Australia, where he has made his home. He is also a committed teacher of the mridangam, and is deeply involved in the expansion of Karnatic music's horizons.
